Bodhi undertook the East Africa Fund Evaluation: Restoring Livelihoods Amidst Climate Change and Conflict for the Swiss Solidarity. The evaluation provided an objective and independent assessment of the livelihood and food security recovery projects funded by Swiss Solidarity in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. A total of 32 projects received funding, and Swiss Solidarity partner NGOs have implemented or are still implementing these projects either directly, in collaboration with local partners, or through mixed modalities. This evaluation focused on projects that aim to restore livelihoods and re-establish food security for the affected people. Ultimately, this evaluation helped shape future interventions to be more effective, context-specific, and better aligned with the needs and preferences of the affected people. Bodhi used a robust, mixed-methods approach to thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness, relevance, and economic sustainability of livelihood and food security recovery activities funded by Swiss Solidarity in Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya.
